Freestanding Brooder building plans

Compact in size, and entirely freestanding, this is our simplest brooder, designed for the backyard chicken keeper.
 
These plans are to build an 24" x 18" x 15"chick brooder, with an overall height of 37"
 
Plans include a complete materials list, cut lists and diagrams, and images and written instructions for each step. 
 
Access from the front reduces the preadator response (and accompying stress) that comes when prey animals are approached from above, not to mention, it saves your back and makes for some great chicken TV.   
 
A shop lamp with a heat source can be placed directly on the top – no need to move anything to access the inside!
 
The plans include options for hardware cloth or cedar on the front doors.

3 square feet of floor space.  
 
Designed to house up to 8 chicks for the first few weeks of life.
