By moving the coop frequently, you help prevent the accumulation of parasites and bacteria that can thrive in stationary coops. It also provides your chickens with constant access to fresh ground for scratching, dust bathing, and foraging, which reduces boredom and promotes natural behaviors.

No! Coops from Feathered Fortress are designed for easy maneuverability. They have large, flat-free wheels and a bar at the front, making it easy for you to lift and pull. This allows a single person to move them with minimal effort, even with chickens inside. I've even watched a six-year-old pull a Folsom along a level driveway!

The Henitentary holds up to 15 chickens. The Folsom model holds up to 25 chickens. These numbers can vary based on the breed size and temperament of your birds. Fewer large breed or aggressive birds should go in a coop. You may be able to fit a few more bantams and small breeds.

No! Coops are for roosting only. Your birds should be able to leave and forage during the day. This can be free-ranging (though the predator tax may be high), in an enclosed run, or my personal favorite, in an area surrounded by solar electric poultry netting.
